Women and Wellness

In today’s world, social norms and expectations can often create an environment that is challenging for women’s mental health and wellbeing. Sometimes anxiety and depression can result simply because a woman has spent years putting every family member’s needs ahead of her own.

Whether you have been struggling with a toxic relationship or you are feeling unbalanced and no one has been able to figure it out, at Believe to Achieve Wellness we can help. Both women – and men – can feel out of balance, possibly due to hormonal issues or because of a lingering illness, such as Covid. We can help! We combine counseling with medical and psychiatric care, working in tandem with our trusted list of conventional and holistic medical providers.

What we treat

  • Depression
  • Anxiety
  • Infertility
  • Postpartum issues
  • PTSD
  • Low self-esteem
  • Career transition
  • Parenting concerns

At Believe to Achieve, we also seek out hidden disabilities that could be affecting a person’s ability to cope with normal life activities, such as high blood pressure, diabetes, or other ailments that require a person to take a different approach to life events. Since women are thought to be 20% to 40% more likely to struggle with mental health, according to Daniel Freeman, Oxford University clinical psychologist, it is important that women acknowledge stress and anxiety and seek help.

We are here to help any woman or man, wife or husband, mother or father who feels anxious or overwhelmed find the source of that anxiety and build strategies to improve their lives.

Unsure if your hormones may be impacting your mental health?

Why continue to struggle? Kay has worked with well over 1,000 women for nearly 20 years to coordinate care with local health care and wellness providers. While she does not diagnose, from her Natural Family Planning training and years discussing cases with many local OB\GYNs and endocrinologists, Kay knows hormones. A common comment from clients is, “Why did I wait so long to reach out? I feel so much better with my hormones and thyroid regulated!” Spouses and parents thank Kay frequently for advocating for their loved one’s care.

While Kay Metzler is not a doctor, she has worked with thousands of women since 2004 who suspect their hormones or endocrine systems may not be operating fully. When Kay refers to her trusted network or consults with your OB/GYN, PCP, endocrinologist, etc., she leverages her experience to accelerate your path to diagnosis and treatment. In summary, this is the typical process:

1. You start therapy and indicate which symptoms of health and known medical areas bothering you the most.
2. As rapport is developed and you develop a comfort level, with your permission, she will present your systems with possible ideas to explore to your doctor or refer you to a few select medical providers she has trusted over the years to care for her clients.
3. You and your provider begin the exploration process to diagnose and treat.
4. Quarterly, or as desired, Kay is willing to consult with your doctor to learn and accompany you on the treatment journey.

END RESULT: Clients discharge from therapy sooner when the medical piece is explored fully and addressed.

The struggle to balance career, relationship, and parenting can lead many men and women down the road of stress, depression, and guilt as they struggle to understand the needs of their children. • Ideas for dealing with strong-willed personalities
  • Tips and ideas for reducing your stress and adjusting your schedule to ensure you can be available for your child when he or she needs your support

If you need help understanding your child, the dynamics of dealing with siblings, or you need guidance in structuring a balance for career and parenting responsibilities, contact us.

Career Transition

Statistics show that the average working adult changes careers six to seven times before settling on that last job, but that doesn’t mean the transition is easy. Leaving a job, deciding on a new career, and having confidence in that decision can be confusing, scary, and stressful no matter how many times you do it.

We can help with the process, beginning with a career assessment that will help you start your search in the right direction.

Our career transition program includes:

  • Career and personality assessment
  • Review to help target job titles and descriptions that fit you
  • Guidance planning a job search strategy
  • Mock interviews to help you prepare

We are here to help you through your journey. Call us today.
